Moben Mirza

Moben Mirza, MD, FACS

Dr. Mirza is a professor of Urology and the Interim Chair of the University of Kansas Department of Urology. He graduated with honors with a BA in Environmental Science and Engineering from Northwestern University. He received his M.D. from the University of New Mexico, where he completed his residency in Urology. He completed his fellowship in Urologic Oncology with the University of Kansas.

He is a nationally recognized expert in the field of urologic oncology and robotic surgery. He has been involved in the research of prostate cancer since high school.

Dr. Mirza has treated a variety of urologic cancers including prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular, penile, and adrenal cancer. He also treats retroperitoneal tumors and masses. He is also proficient at robotic surgeries to treat many of those cancers.

His philosophy is to treat each of his patients as if they were his family, and is a strong advocate of patient education and shared decision-making.

Outside the office, he is very engaged in community service, leadership, interfaith initiatives, mentorship, and volunteer efforts. As an avid sports fan, he loves sports and is a fan of the KC chiefs and KU Jayhawks Basketball. He has an amazing wife who is engaged in community work and passionate about helping those in need. He also has three awesome sons who keep him busy with their academic work and extra-curricular activities.
