Joshua Broghammer

Joshua A. Broghammer, MD, FACS

Dr.Broghammer is an associate professor of urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dr. Broghammer earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Iowa. He completed his urology residency at Wayne State University at Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in trauma and genitourinary reconstructive surgery at the University of Washingtonís Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Dr. Broghammer has published several peer-reviewed articles on urologic trauma and is currently involved in research. He has completed numerous presentations at regional and national levels in urologic trauma and genital reconstructive surgery. He is also a contributing author to the AUA core curriculum project, which provides educational material to practicing urologists and trainees.

Dr. Broghammer’s specialties involve the treatment of injuries related to trauma, including urethral stricture disease, renal injuries, ureteral strictures, genital injuries and bladder injuries. He performs prosthetic surgery for prostate cancer-related complications, including penile prosthesis for erectile dysfunction, artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) and male sling for incontinence. He also performs surgical correction of Peyronie’s disease and treatment of buried penis.
