Jeffrey Holzbeierlein

Jeffrey Holzbeierlein, MD, FACS

Dr. Holzbeierlein is the vice president and physician in chief of the University of Kansas Cancer Center.

He was raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, and received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. He completed his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma and completed his internship and residency at Vanderbilt University. He joined the faculty at the University of Kansas after completing his fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York.

Dr. Holzbeierlein is the current president of the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO), where he was the past Chair of the Fellowship Committee and serves on the Executive Board of the SUO. For this work, he received the SUO Distinguished Service Award in 2013.

He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, presentations, and abstracts in journals and textbooks dealing with urologic oncology.

Dr. Holzbeierlein specializes in the treatment of genitourinary malignancies including bladder, kidney, testicular, and penile cancers. His research interest includes the Hsp90 inhibitors in bladder cancer and clinically decreasing the morbidity associated with cystectomy.
